Felix Baumgarter Record Breaking Space Jump

Monday, October 15, 2012 | 0 comments

Felix is now a world record title holder for the fastest free fall speed as well the highest jumper from space. He was lifted by a specialized balloon (filled with helium) from the Earth surface inside a pressurized capsule releasing himself at the height of 128-thousand feet. And he completed his stunt at around 4-minutes in total time reaching a maximum speed from space of about 1,300km/h.

Felix Baumgarter

Here's the video of the 43-year-old Austrian who reached the stratosphere to gain that record breaking speed as he enters the atmosphere of the planet:

Compared to Chuck Yeager, Baumgarter lifted by a regular helium-powered balloon inside a Zenith small capsule which can protect him while on his way to the nearby outer space. And he is now holding the record of highest manned balloon flight as noted by reports.

The stunt of Felix was sponsored by Red Bull, a breath-taking attempt that can kill anyone in a free-falling speed due to Earth's gravitational pull.

Furthermore, they called it a "supersonic" jump coupled with danger not only during the flight but also on a speed that can simply ignite his suite on his way back to the planet. And what will going to happen on that capsule? That is already added to the junk in our outside space.
